We are a non-profit organization, which exists to spread hope & love through giving to our local community. We believe that every person was created by God for a purpose & is worthy of a full and happy life. Our desire is to add dignity & hope to the lives of everyone we meet!
We work hard to develop programs & services that meet real needs of individuals and families in our community.
Our Crisis Center in Mendon serves individuals and families in need of basic necessities. We give vouchers through our Fill-In Program that are redeemable at The Blessing Barn Home Store, Apparel Store and Bargain Basement for needs-based items such as clothing, furniture, household items and more, fuel assistance, maternity and baby items, Thanksgiving meals and Christmas gifts for kids ages newborn to 18 during the holidays. People experiencing emergencies and family crisis will find our team of Care Representatives ready to help in tangible ways.
The Happy Place serves individuals with special needs and intellectual disabilities as well as their families in 3 basic ways: Vocational Program with internships, employment at The Blessing Barn Bookstore & Cafe, Happy Eats Food Trailer & friendship opportunities at The Clubhouse.
The Happy Place Programs takes place at our Mendon stores, The Blessing Barn Home Store and The Blessing Barn Bookstore and Cafe, and now our Happy Eats Food Trailer. Through this program students and adults with special needs learn valuable vocational skills in a fun, safe & supportive environment.
Our Kids and Adult Clubhouse is a voucher based program that provides a safe space for individuals with special needs and intellectual disabilities to hangout, be themselves and have fun while parents and caregivers get a much needed break! Currently, there are around 60 kids and adults participating in our clubhouse program!
Room in the City provides free short-term housing for patients and the loved ones of people admitted into Boston area hospitals. It’s an honor to provide comfortable and easy solutions during their difficult time.
The Blessing Barns are truly the heart and soul of everything we’re able to do at CNE. 100% of the profits of our locations are used to fund our programs and services. The Blessing Barn Home Store, The Blessing Barn Bookstore and Cafe and Happy Eats Food Trailer are in Mendon, MA and The Blessing Barn Sudbury is in Sudbury, Ma. It’s truly an incredible thing to see these beautiful stores filled with items that are donated by people in the community. As our customers donate & shop, they are enabling Compassion New England to serve the people in our community who need it!
CNE was born out of a desire to mobilize people of all walks of life to become a part of spreading hope & love to a world in need. We need people more than ever to join this mission, and people willing to offer some of what they have to those who have not. You can do this by: volunteering time, donating money, and donating goods.
If you are generous with the hungry and start giving yourselves to the down-and-out, your lives will begin to glow in the darkness, your shadowed lives will be bathed in sunlight. I will always show you where to go. I'll give you a full life in the emptiest of places—firm muscles, strong bones.
